How to approach the Ferrers Gallery with your work
a quick guide for visual artists & crafts people
We are always on the look out for new makers, artists and craftspeople. If you wish to contact us about your work then please follow these guidelines.
British: You must be a British maker/artist as we promote British crafts
Images: If you have a catalogue or website that we can view, please let us know. Otherwise, send images of your work on a CD or via email to info@ferrersgallery.co.uk. Please include a self-addressed envelope if you wish images to be returned to you.
Prices: It is important for you to include artist/trade prices as it is a useful guide for us as to final price and whether we would consider buying the work in or asking for it on a sale or return basis. In some cases it is useful to include a recommended retail price, particularly if you exhibit elsewhere in the UK. It is helpful if you can let us know if you are happy to exhibit work on a sale or return basis.
Dimensions: This is particularly useful for paintings and sculptures so that we can gauge sizes
More about you: It is always good to receive an artist statement (not CV) explaining about inspirations and techniques used in the work.
About us:
We hold several exhibitions per year and most of these are themed, it may be that your work is not suitable for certain exhibitions but may be suitable at a later date. For this reason, we may not contact you straight away and we keep a huge resource of makers on file for future shows. Ultimately, we know our customers and are aware of what is likely to sell so if we say no, it often means that we don’t feel the work is right for us.
